Jan Boone

Prof. Jan Boone is hoofddocent aan de Vakgroep Bewegings-en Sportwetenschappen (UGent) binnen de onderzoeksgroep Inspanningsfysiologie en Sportvoeding. Het wetenschappelijk onderzoek binnen zijn onderzoeksgroep focust zich op topics als kwantificatie van trainingsbelasting en relatie tot prestatie in duursporten, de fysiologie van apneu(training)en de fysiologische responsen in de verschillende intensiteitsdomeinen. Daarnaast is Jan Boone ook actief in de onderzoeksgroep (PACE) die inzet dienstverlening binnen de elitesport (trainingsbegeleiding voor oa. een aantal elite wielrenners/duuratleten getraind) en werkt hij nauw samen met verschillende federaties in functie van de voorbereiding van de atleten op de klimatologische omstandigheden van Tokio 2021.
