Karolien Casteels

Karolien Casteels startte haar carrière als kleuterleidster en studeerde nadien af als ergotherapeut aan AP Hogeschool Antwerpen. Reeds tijdens de opleiding richtte ze zich vooral op kinderen met een atypische leerontwikkeling en verdiepte ze zich verder in schrijfmotoriek, sensorische integratie, basale stimulatie en executieve functies. De keuze om verder te werken met kinderen was dan ook een evidentie. Ze deed ervaring op in zowel regulier als bijzonder onderwijs. Een zorgfunctie in het onderwijs werd al snel gecombineerd met een praktijk voor kinderen met een atypische ontwikkeling. Daarnaast geeft Karolien wobbelturnen in vroedvrouwenpraktijk De Wolk en begeleid ze studenten ergotherapie in de eindmeet naar hun diploma. Met ‘Ergo-lien’ wil ze niet alleen kinderen maar ook hun ouders en de wijde omgeving meenemen in de verdere ontwikkeling van het kind.
